Freeman's Armada

Some of the most famous pirates known throughout the world had close ties to South Carolina. In the golden age of piracy, Charleston was a hub for pirates such as Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet to sell their stolen goods, and was the childhood home of Anne Bonney.

Blackbeard was known throughout the area and anchored off coast whenever passing through the area. He famously ran a blockade of the Charleston port in 1718, in which he held the harbor for six days capturing all ships entering the harbor or attempting to leave. His demands were quickly met - medicine for his crew.

History

The "free pirates" of Freeman's Armada use their access to the Cooper River from the North Chuck Terminal to command a significant naval presence in the area. They function as a pirate democracy, but so far have only been led by the Captain Admiral Freeman. Freeman is a charismatic leader and a shrewd strategist, who uses his knowledge of the marshes and inlands to run raids deep into the marshlands.

While most pirates are very happy with their shares, their are whispers among the crews that maybe a council of pirate captains should be formed to better represent the crews.

Admiral Elias Freeman

Admiral Freeman loves living a comfortable life with women, booze, and lots of money to purchase both; furthermore, he willing to "kill any son of a bitch who gets between me and whats mine". He commands his pirates effectively and ruthlessly, killing anyone (friendly or otherwise) who impedes his ability to gather wealth. He is known for shooting his first-mate of six years in the back of the head when he noticed him pocket a few caps before shares were given out.
