Locations

Charleston is flush with a variety of landmarks, settlements, and other locations of interest.

Charleston

The central Charleston Area is split into the historical districts of the peninsula, and the industrial areas of North Charleston.

Charleston Peninsula

The Charleston peninsula continues to be the central hub of the Charleston area. Today the area includes everything between the Ashley and Cooper rivers south of the Five-Two-Six.

North Charleston

Before the Great War North Charleston exploded with industrial growth as corporations moved in to the area to take advantage of the federal resources being poured into the area.

Pleasant Sands

Pleasant Sands is the strip of land between the Wando River and the ocean. The Pleasant Highway is the main trade route through the area.

West Marshes

The West Marshes are a series of marshy island broken up by the Stono, Kiawah, Wadmalaw, and Ashley rivers. These areas are less densely populated and spotted with small farming communities.

James Island

James Island is the easternmost part of the West Marshes that runs between the Stono and Ashley rivers. Being closer to Charleston proper, the settlements here are larger than most of the other islands. Large portions of this area are under USAF control.

Johns Island

Johns Island consists of mostly farm communities, and has become the central area of influence for the Confederated Southeast Settlements (CSS).

Yonges Island

Yonges Island consists of mostly large farmsteads, with the town of Hollywood acting as a sort of central market town for local farmers.

Glowing Marsh

The Glowing Marsh has become a natural reservoir for large pools of irradiated water that collected after the bomb dropped off the coast of Charleston. Much of the irradiated water and vapor that spread of the area settled here, and is slowly being filtered out naturally by the wetlands. Still, the marsh has a dim green glow that can be seen when the sun sets. There is almost no life out here, but a single highway into the area leads directly to Middleton.
